The right picture of lslam is conveyed in the Qur'an, which is exemplified by Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him. The reality is that it is not fair to judge a religion by the actions of its followers alone because there are good and bad followers in every religion. The correct thing to do is to judge a religion by its documented revelation from God and the prophet who brought that revelation.
I encourage Christians and other religions to learn about Islam from Muslim sources and The Basis Of The Muslim Belief and not rely on second hand information which in many cases is distorted or contains a deep seated anti Muslim agenda. This is indeed a more scholarly approach. I think any one will not accept from his enemy to give informations to the world about his life and his belief

any reasonable person will get to know that all 5 fingers are not the same. similarly all muslims are not bad. there are atleast a few rotten apples in the big crate of good ones. may be the only way muslims can do something is by telling people about Islam to their non-muslim feinds.

There is good and bad among every religion, creed and race. It happens that the way Muslims are portrayed in the media, it seems as if they are "bad". But, anyone who holds true to the purity of Islam, will never seem bad in the eyes of anyone ... even among those who hate Muslims. The truth cannot be denied.

No worse than most Christians I know. The only difference is in most Muslim countrys religion and government are fused together. There's no better argument for keeping the two seperate than the Muslims' image problem.
If Christianity had its hooks into our government the way Islam has its hooks into most of the Muslim world, we'd be just as disliked around the world----ummmm, oh wait........(sigh)

The media in the U.S. and western cultured countries make Muslims look bad... The media in other countries make Christians and Americans look bad.
I have many Muslim friends and Christian friends (as well as other religions) and it's the same for all... but none of them will see the other's side of it because they are so worried about their own image.. If we all tried to broaden our understanding of other religions or cultures, the media would have no power to make any one group look bad. Therefore, it is not really the media's fault but the peoples... if we all choose to remain ignorant of eachother, humanity is surely doomed.

Of course not. The extremists do not represent the majority of Muslims. However, they are getting a very bad rap -- by Christian fanatics who think that Jesus is commanding them to murder people in Iraq. See the information below for more information.

nope... Moslems are religious people seeking peace too... what makes their faith bad (or what makes them appear bad, that is) are the rotten apples amongst them. the worms and scums that uses their faith as an excuse for their bad characters. i have moslem friends. in fact, we even talk about religion, yet we get along fine. we respect each others views and opinions on the subject of faith and like me, he agrees that every religion has some scumbags within their ranks. if only we can find a way to flush out these dirtbags to make the world a better place.

Stuff,
If TV is the only one making Islam look bad, then there is a whole lot of people who are not dead that were reported dead. There is also a couple of buildings in New Yoprk that are still standing. And the Fox news reporters were probably lying about being forced into Islam with a gun to their head.
Hebollah accidentally shot missles into Israel?
Those people in the Gaza and Lebanon weren't dancing in the streets celebrating 911?
Osama is actually a harmless fellow?
The President of Iran is not making nuclear weapons and has no plans to support terrorism?
Muslims that are in Iraq are not blowing up things and people daily?
WTF are you talking about. You people are not turning in your radicals. You are to blame for so much!
I don't want to believe it, I know it!
Go try to sucker someone else.

No, you are just like everyone else. We are all created by God the same in all ways that matter. We all have free will. How we exercise that free will as individuals makes our behavior good or bad.
I do not believe that a Muslim has salvation from sin. I believe the only path to salvation is Jesus Christ. I say this ever so respectfully as my opinion, belief and faith; not as a condemnation or criticism in any way.
