What's the point of talking? Some people do it to be rude and others use it show their emotions. If words like that bug you so much you got some major problems, you need to grow up and ignore things you don't like, we don't always get what we want.

I think the reason people cuss is to either get attention or show how low vocabulary they have. I think it is very immature of people who cuss on purpose. I mean if a word falls out because they broke something or whatever (then ok i guess i understand). But just saying like "you beep get back here!" stuff like that is stupid.

Bugs me a lot too. Especially when you have done nothing wrong. I hope one day everyone would be nice to one another. But i defiantly don't think that will happen. In my lifetime anyways.

There really isnt a point. It has just become a part of everyday "normal" speech. I am in the military and I probably havent had a conversation in about 5 years that hasnt had a "cuss" word in it.

Some people thinks it makes them look cool. Others use it for emphasis. Some use it out of habit. Sometimes no other words can be used.

I think it is too. About the only time I may cuss is when I stump my toe or something with the d word but around people I do not do it at all,

I've always believed it's ignorant to cuss. If you're vocabulary is SO bad that you can't think of anything else to say in casual converstion than 'sh%t' then don't say anything at all. However, I also believe that when speaking to certain people the only way to get across your point (like if you're really mad) is to cuss like they do. It never failed to get my ex's attention when I'd cuss, since I usually didn't.

it just seems to be something that has made its way into our culture as 'cool' people do it to impress others (which is stupid). i've also heard that it 'relieves stress and anger', well what happened to the good old, locking yourself in your car and screaming it out?? i also think that some ppl just don't know too many words beyond curse words (which is stupid), or they have been raised to think its ok (which is stupid)
so all in all, its stupid

ps. bugs me too, can u tell?

None really. It just helps blow off steam for some people and for others they honestly do not know a better word to use in the first place.

To demonstrate ignorance and lack of vocabulary. Vulgarity is often viewed as humorous, but there are far more descriptive words in the English language that can be used.

Usually used for humor. Added emphasis makes a huge huge difference, whether you know it or not. Also, some people (me) choose to ignore the "swear" label, and believe that a word is just a word and doesn't do any harm.
