I raise mini dachsunds. You will have to be very patient with a dachsund. Sometimes they take a while to house train and or crate train. Good luck with your new puppy!

Start walking the little tyke, after its` breakfast, lunch and dinner to let it exercise playfully until it goes, try about the same time everyday, good luck, I have a little dachshund too, she`s 6 yrs. now, we got her when she was 6 wks. old. I love her so much , and had no problem training her to potty outside, at night I`d put newspaper in the bath tub and an old towel in at the foot of tub, for her to sleep on, she would tee & poo at the faucet end, and never at her bed area.

ig the crate is bigger that 2 times the size of the dog you schould put something so it makes the crate small. cus i have a golden and when she was a puppy here crate was big and she thought that she can do here bussniess in there so you should short it so they have room to sleep and turn around.
for house breaking i would take my dog out every morning with her leash on and would take her to the spot i would want her to do her bussiness.and no she goes there every moring and when ver she has to go. and it works out fine.
hope this helps yooh!!

I would recomend trying to buy a large low to the groud (shallow) storage container and buy som sod and put it in your house wereever you want and teach her to go ing there, because small dogs go to the bathroom more often and and as it gets toward winter a lot of small dogs don't want to go out in the cold and this way the dog can use it when ever it needs to go and you just pick up the poop in it and water it every so often

Be patient, take him outside at certain hours, praise when he does his business. Crate, well that I dont know, mine is 5 years old now and is good around the house, never was destructive, very obedient, they are very smart dogs, they love praise.

we house trained our dog by putting a bell on the doorknob and every time we took her out we would make her right the bell... a few weeks later she would ring the bell on her own when she needed to go out...
