Over my lifetime I've seen couples who were together for all the wrong reasons. A close friend of mine is currently seeing someone she isn't sexually attracted to b/c she enjoys the companionship, is afraid of she won't find someone else, and the sex is decent (in spite of the fact she feels no sexual desires for him). She isn't actually repulsed by him, but prefers to keep things "in the dark." Literally. I'm telling you this as background, no need to judge my friend's issues...she has me...and her shrink...on-call and trust me, I'm trying to get her to realize there's more to a relationship than a warm body next to you in bed.

My question, men, is this: will a man stay in a relationship with a woman if he isn't attracted to her? My guy friends claim that a "dude" simply won't continue dating and sleeping with a woman if he isn't feeling the chemistry. If you have lead a person on, how long did this continue?

Just wondering - thanks for your time!

Some guys have no taste or morals so it doesn't bother them! Others will walk out if they lose interest just like a woman would ...it really isn't a male/female thing its a matter of attraction versus convenience!

Depends on many variables to include a man's age and other opportunities he may feel he has. Companionship is valuable; and sometimes people minimize the importance of other negative aspect within the relationship for this benefit. This situation can typically continue for several months; or as long as the women does not force an 'exclusive' commitment.

As a man, I can tell you that doing anything with a woman that you have no feelings for is a waste of time and nothing in the area of happiness, or lightness of being can be had from it. My answer is no.

I agree to that. Even though most guys wouldn't turn down a one nighter, I would feel empty if sleeping with the person was the only reason I was with them.

Well it depends, I wont start a relationship with a woman that I'm not attratted to but down the road my wife isn't going to look as good as she use to but I'm not going to file for divorce.

I once had a guy tell me this about his girlfriend. Yeah she's butt ugly but look at that body. Then went on to say you just dont look at the face when you know, ha ha ha. Men are truly dogs.

No, i wouldn't...

in fact, i wouldn't even START a relationship with a Lady i wasn't attracted to!... hell, i'd think one-nighters would usually suck the most 'cos you're probably not/never going to see/be with that particular person again...??

Men will have intercourse with most willing females..

If there's a non-physical attraction too, it will strengthen the chances of the relationship lasting..

Men are insecure too, and might hang on to something for fear of loneliness..

A lot depends on the man. I never treat sex as "casual"
