To love someone is to have passion.
To not love someone is to be indifferent
Is to hate someone the opposite of love? Hate is a feeling and therefore a passion, so how is to hate someone the opposite of love?

The two emotions are different. Sometimes it is hard to distinguish the two. Do you hate because you love. You can love and hate with a passion. You can love someone enough to be able to hate them. If you hate someone you have given them a place in your heart the same as you do when you love them. While there in your heart, the two feelings can switch places without you being aware of what they are, love or hate. If you hate someone, you are giving that person space in your life. If you truly hate them is that what you intended to do? Try to be indifferent.

Hate isn't exactly the opposite of love. Hate is a strong urge or feeling that you have toward someone. It's when you can't bare to look at them, talk about them, and have any good intentions towards them. It's not a good thing to carry hate around anyone. You should learn to forgive, but do not forget. If you hate someone, you feel a strong passion to hurt them. Sometimes it's not even wanting to hurt someone, sometimes you want to yell and justify yourself to them. I'm not sure If I was any help, but that's my take on hate.

If all of you stopped for one minute and thought about what you were saying about HATE, if you even took that one word out of your vocabulary for one day you wouldn't survive. Someone always "HATES" someone or something for other reasons than love or indifference. HATE can be a very powerful word, and sometimes can't be taken back once said. Ever wonder what HATE really means? Here let me help you out: H= HORRIBLE, A= ATTRIBUTES, T= TOO, E= EVERYONE. Does this sound like something that you really want in your lives? Can't you have LOVE or LIKE without the HATE? Why must you HATE someone or something? Sure, you can DISLIKE something or someone, but don't HATE them. This is my definition of the word HATE. I try everyday to leave it out of my life, you should try it.

Here is a good example: I hate my Ex-babysitter for shaking my 3 month old son!!!!!! Total hatred. I have the passion to shake her just as she did my son. If I love someone I would do any thing to save them from harm but if I hate someone I would stand back and let harm come to them with the feeling of indifference.

Hate is the extreme passion of disliking someone. Love is the extreme passion of caring for someone. I dont really understand your question, but you sound smart. Someone give this man a cookie.

Hate is not the opposite of love. You are right. Indifference is. Hate is strong like love, so there is a thin line between hate and love.

Hate is the feeling that I have for you right now. Hate and love are both strong emotions/feelings, so of course you need passion for both. All strong feelings have passion, that doesn't make them all the same.

Both hate and love are forms of passion. Love is a positive passion, whereas hate is a negative passion. In essence, they are opposites.

Love is not just passion. It means you really care about that person, and you would be extremely upset if something ever happened to them. To hate someone is to not care what happens to them, and sometimes wishing something horrible would happen to them. You stay out of their way as much as possible.

I do think that hate is the exact opposite of love. To hate someone you have to have loved them at some point.
