my mate, who's also S1, sang "on my own" and "everything's alright" for an audition in a musical. both songs were played in famous theatrical plays, the first song in Les Miserables, and the second song, in Jesus Christ Superstar. she just found out yesterday that she got the lead role. i'm also on the musical, as a supporting pianist though. goodluck to you.

first difficulty to make certain is what the actual musical will be, look the musical and the songs in it and discover songs which have a similar customary topic because the musical. If there's a particular position you want, then once you audition, gown frequently as that personality ought to and act comparable to her. also, imagine about the music that position sings and if she ought to sing the music you picked on your audition. do not difficulty about the piano, when you've the music, then attempt to discover the sheet music, in case you won't be able to discover it, then ask your instructor in case you may sing acapello (devoid of music). desire that facilitates, good success!

It depends on the show.
I'd choose something by the same guy who wrote the music for the one you are auditioning for.
Some musicals are pretty simple and some are very demanding. Choosing a similar style to the one you are audtioning for is your best bet.

if you have any favorite musicals check out those, as most of the female parts are for high voices.
