dislike builds to hatred, hatred builds to anger, anger builds to rage, rage blinds the mind and the heart and the next thing you know, somebody is lying dead on the ground..

Emotions yes, but also a lack of emotions can lead to murder.

Growing up with an older brother, I know explosive rage can lead to murder.. luckily in my case, it didn't lead to murder.

When someone is mugging a guy for example and kills him, this is lack of emotions in my opinion.

Not just ANY emotion. But take a mental disorder called intermittent explosive disorder... where madness explodes like road rage. Did you read the book titled "Mommie Dearest?" Written by Joan Crawford's daughter? .The book is a good description of the mental disorder. In the National Enquirer they wrote of Ramsey Family Secret Uncovered.. the secret being the mental disorder..And their title is "mental disorder made Mom kill Jonbenet"..dateof paper October 12 1999. Child is on cover.. Headline is MENTAL DISORDER MADE MOM KILL. The illness was medically diagnosed. They have pix of 2 experts Dr. Judianne Densen Gerber, and Dr. Cyuril Wecht. In the article they quote from the Christina (author) about her mother Joan Crawford.. she says Joan nearly ended the childs life.. "She grabbed for my throat like a mad dog, like a wild beast with a look in her eyes that will never be erased from my memory. Her face weas only a few inches away from mine. Her mouth was twisteed with rage and her eyes were tghe eyes of a killer animal glistening with excitement." Christina was saved by Joan's secretary who pulled the actress off her daugher. But no one was there to save (I am quoting the article) JonBenet when her killer erupted in rage. Said Dr. Densen-Gerber "It's frightening to think that the image poor Jon-Benet took to the grave might have been the face of her mother dripping with pure evil"

Gosh, that a multi-answer question. Emotions can get so strong that one can lose all sense of self control and logic. Anger, jealously, desperation can all lead to one devastating act that can never be undone. That's why so many plead temporary insanity.

FEAR is the culprit. Someone once said there is really only ONE emotion, that being "fear." All other emotions are based in fear or the lack of fear. Joy and happiness is the absence of fear. Hatred and anger are due to some fear. Even depression is linked to fear. I can see it. Fear can make you irrational. Remember that horrible secret that you would have done anything to keep xxxx person from finding out? FEAR drove you to do what you did to protect your self.

Rage is a powerful emotion ! When people don't know how to control it people can blackout . It only takes a second to kill someone . When the rage wears off it's too late . Then comes the guilt , worry , fear .....

When you no longer have control of yourself. As you live, you learn. And one of lifes leasons that we all learn is how to control our anger. Once you have mastered this, the stronger of a person you accually become. You learn to respect and love yourself. When someone gets you so mad, sad and or upset that you feel you want to inflict pain apon them, well, then they have accually won!

I think that it is a lack of certain emotions that causes it. I also feel it has to do with mental stability and ethical issues.

Very much. Sometimes peoples emotions can take over their concious thoughts and they can do things they never would do otherwise, with out realizing it.
