All employment income is taxed the same way. There is no distinction between wages, commissions, and bonuses.

Regular compensation and bonuses are taxed the same, as ordinary income. Same for commissions. Rate depends on your total taxable income.

The only exception would be if the person gets the commission as 1099 income which normally is really a pass along from the manufacture not direct commission from your employer.

Bonuses and salaries are taxed the same, although the amount withheld can be different. Commissions, salaries, and bonuses are all ordinary income taxed at regular rates.
