hehehe, I don't know. I asked this same question yesterday because my lab loves to lick metal. Every time she sees something metal she goes over to it and licks it.

I would feed him something better than Iams though. All pet foods you find in a grocery store are filled with lots of junk. I would suggest going to a pet store and feeding him the best food you can afford there. Some of the better brands are:

Natural Balance
Solid Gold
California Natural
Wellness
Innova
Fromm
Canidae

just to name a few

You know, when people have cravings for odd things, like dirt or ice or wood, it's called PICA and scientists have found that it is often something lacking in the persons diet. You might give your vet a call and see if that could be what's happening with your dog or if he has just developed a strange taste for metal. Good luck!

Sure, why not! I have two dogs, and they may bark at each other and fight at first, but soon they will get along. First introduce the pug to the pomeranian by letting it sniff the pomeranian's toy or something that it used. Until you think it is used to the smell, don't let it see the pomeranian. Do the same for the pomeranian with the pug's toy. Hope this helped! Good luck! :)

I have a Puggle and she doesn't do that. Maybe it's not even that, maybe she just likes it because it's cold or tastes different than other stuff in the house. What exactly is the metal thing she keeps licking?

it sound as though there is try to give him a raw unpeeled potato i know of this because a friend of mine used to bread german shepherds and that is what he gives them every day and they love them it,s worth a try his dogs are very healthy and he does not have to take them to the vet very often or ask your vet if he tells you what could be missing don,t buy it just say thank you and go to a homeapathic chemist and ask for the same thing or nearest to it and you will save a fortune in vets prescription because they have a lot of what vets use
we use homeapethic medecines and so does my freind for his dogs

He just loves the cool feeling of touching metal, he's trying to cool off. You know how dogs always hang their tongue when they overheat because they have no sweat glands.

some dogs just like doing weird things (mine chew up full size logs) but you might want to try and switch your dog to a food called Royal Caine it is wonderfull and they eat it very well and they have special bags that fit the dogs lifestyle or breed I highly recomend it. you might want to also buy him a small bone to give him something apropriate to chew on

your dog is just like any other dog, they like what they like, one of my dogs loves to chew plastic, one of them loves rocks and sticks. one of my dogs is an equal opportunity destroyer and will chew up anything she can get ahold of. Iams is a good food your dog shouldnt be lacking anything nutritionally.
