It is a "physical" therapy, BUT it's actually called specifically Occupational therapy. It is specifically for those cognitive skills, like hand writing. Focusing more in cognitive skills.

also, if there's a local physical therapy clinic near you or a hospital, you can inquire there about the hand writing problem. Occupational therapists ( "OT" ) usually work with a Physical therapist.

This is usually performed by an occupational therapist. It may involve drills that require repetition of specific movements that may be lacking in the handwriting, cooridination exercises, fine motor drills. ...and of course, practice of the handwriting
