There is no quick way to truly lose 10 pounds. Plan to take at least 5 weeks, and maybe more to lose it. Here are some suggestions that will help you do it sensibly ...
1. Eat three nutritious meals and three snacks everyday. Cut out junk food.
2. Drink lots of water - at least 8 big glasses as day. Stop drinking soda.
3. Begin a simple weight lifting program at home. Ordinary household items (tins of soup, for example) can serve as weights for beginners.
4. Buy yourself a pedometer and aim for 10,000 steps a day.
5. Record everything you eat and all you exercise to make sure you have a "calorie deficit". Two of the sites I've included will help you do that.
6. Park at the back of the parking lot instead of close to the door. Always use stairs - never the elevator or escalator.

atkins works great! for the first two weeks eat only meat and some green veggies (eating lean meats is the healthiest like chicken and pork) After the first two weeks slowly add in some carbs you can loose about 15 pounds in the first two weeks (about a pound a day) I did it I weighed 185 lbs and got down to 117 lbs, I am 5' 3" so this is a healthy weight and I did no exersize. I have kept the weight off for 3 years! Good Luck

Good carbs like celery and carrots will never make you fat. Bad carbs like cake will, but you don't need to know the whole science of glycemic index and load. It is mostly NOT your fault, if you need to lose weight. The way we have been taught to eat is responsible for making obesity the number one health problem in the world (according to Atlantic Monthly magazine) replacing hunger and infectious disease. You need to re-learn how to eat so you can become thin. Not a diet, but diet lifestyle.

Stop eating, but that's the WORST way to loose 10 lbs that quick. Cut back on calories/fat intake and drink a LOT of water...and if you have time, excersize. If not, just park farther from the grocery store, or take the stairs...the little things add up. Good Luck!
