Simply put, not everyone calling himself "Christian" is actually a follower of Christ. Rather than listening to humans, research the bible view of Christianity.
For example, Trinitarians repeatedly pretend that Jehovah's Witnesses are not Christian. Trinitarians use an artificial, trinity-specific definition of the term "Christian" which excludes anyone who does not believe that Jesus is God Himself, rather than the Son of God. Interestingly, pagans in the first century pretended that Christ's followers were Atheists(!) because the Christians had a somewhat different idea from the pagans about the nature of God.
Jehovah's Witnesses teach that no salvation occurs without Christ, that accepting Christ's sacrifice is a requirement for true worship, that every prayer must acknowledge Christ, that Christ is the King of God's Kingdom, that Christ is the head of the Christian congregation, that Christ is immortal and above every creature, even that Christ was the 'master worker' in creating the universe! Both secular dictionaries and disinterested theologians acknowledge that Jehovah's Witnesses are a Christian religion.
The Trinitarian arguments are intended to insult and demean Jehovah's Witnesses, rather than to give a Scripturally accurate understanding of the term "Christian".
In fact, the bible most closely associates being "Christian" with preaching about Christ and Christ's teachings. Review all the times the bible uses the term "Christian" and note that the context connects the term with:
"declaring the good news"
'teaching quite a crowd'
'open eyes, turn from dark to light'
"uttering sayings of truth"
"persuade"
"keep on glorifying"
(Acts 11:20-26) [The early disciples of Jesus] began talking to the Greek-speaking people, declaring the good news of the Lord Jesus... and taught quite a crowd, and it was first in Antioch that the disciples were by divine providence called Christians.
(Acts 26:17-28) [Jesus said to Paul] I am sending you, to open their eyes, to turn them from darkness to light and from the authority of Satan to God... Paul said: “I am not going mad, Your Excellency Festus, but I am uttering sayings of truth and of soundness of mind. ...Do you, King Agrippa, believe the Prophets? I know you believe.” But Agrippa said to Paul: “In a short time you would persuade me to become a Christian.”
(1 Peter 4:14-16) If you are being reproached for the name of Christ, you are happy... But if he suffers as a Christian, let him not feel shame, but let him keep on glorifying God in this name
So why do anti-Witnesses try to hijack the term "Christian" and hide its Scriptural implications? Because anti-Witnesses recognize that it is the preaching work that makes it clear that the relatively small religion of Jehovah's Witnesses are by far the most prominent followers of Christ:
(Matthew 28:19,20) Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded

No Christian differs on the fact that Jesus Christ was crucified and saved humankind.
The other stuff--it can be confusing. It's because Jesus' disciples and apostles wrote their testimonies, and since they weren't all the same person, they have different perspectives.
Humans are the authors of confusion. Humans can only understand God so well. We can't understand him in full, since we are not him.
You should just believe that God came to earth and died so that you may be saved.
Jesus belonged to no group. Jesus--being the Christ, and being God, who needs no religion--was not a Christian.

first of catholics are Christian(someone i read said we aren't). the catholic church is the church founded by christ so start there. it is the oldest and holds the truth of god. since martin Luther broke away from the catholic church in 1500s all the new religions are only 500 years old, as opposed to 2000 years of Catholicism. martin Luther when he broke away edited the bible to fit his teachings that have confused so many people for so long, because of this split we now have thousands upon thousands of new religions some less than 100 year old. so the bible they use is incomplete. Luther deleted several books of the bible and changed words in the book of Romans and even shortened passages in a few other books. this man made bible is now accepted sadly in all these denominations. the catholic church has one teaching, one church which is universal unlike any of the others. i can go to a catholic here or in Ireland and it would be the same. if i went to a baptist,Methodist etc.....church in one city all the teachings would be different from church to church and pastor to pastor.

DIfferent Christian denominations accentuate different doctrines of the Bible, so minor differences occur in their teachings.
DIfferent religions use different Bibles.
Catholics have their own Bible.
JW's have their own Bible.
Mormons have their own.
7th Day Adventists have their own.
and so on and so on.
Since all these belief systems use one form or another of the Bible, it might be good to talk with a Jewish person. (Jesus was born a Jew.) Ask them which version of the Bible they read when they want to read the Old Testament scriptures in English.
In my experience ('cause I've done this) they will tell you that the KJV is the most accurate English version of the Hebrew scriptures.
Then, go find a Bible teaching church that adheres to the KJV or at least the NKJV Bible. Read it for yourself, and follow along during the teachings.
As in most things in life, these days you have to be your own advocate when searching for something.

We all differ in our opinions because we have forgotten or fail to recognize that God is the ultimate judge of what we do, not our fellow man. Any person who lives a moral life and follows God's law will receive just rewards, regardless of which Christian religion they belong to. Anyone who does not recognize that they have no right to judge another man's actions and deeds and pass judgement related to their spiritual disposition does not truely understand Christian teachings.
Yes, Catholics are Christians. We believe in Jesus Christ, his birth, death and resurection. Many other Christian religions are offshoots of Catholocism

The problem of who is God? is that God is revealed in the Holy Bible. Jesus is the Son of God, the Lamb of God, the Resurrection & the Life. God is revealed in the Holy Bible. I AM the LORD thy God one LORD.
The prophets of the bible have been proven true. Other people have added apochryphal writings to the bible (Catholics, Mormons, Jehovah Witnesses, Islam) If anyone adds or takes away from what is revealed in the Holy Bible, one will be found out a liar or false prophet or stupid.
Jesus Christ, Son of God is LORD is the foundation of the church of Christ. Christians are found in different Christian denominations. The different denominations also add different rules to keep the church order.
I go to a nondenominational church whose Pastor seeks God for every message & knows the Holy Bible. He is annointed to preach to us what God wants Him to preach to us.
You need to believe God. Believe your a sinner needing a Saviour. Confess Jesus Christ your LORD. Believe in your heart He rose from the dead & you will be saved (everlasting life).

I believe that the basic message from Jesus is so difficult to follow that we each and also the "religions" think there must be easier interpretaions.
For example: who here on Y.Q. believes that it is logical or reasonable or "real world" to "love your enemy"?
It's easy to say: I love God. Who would know the difference? Do you really know who God is? It's much more difficult to love your neighbour as yourself. You can check the results. It's even more difficult to love a "neighbour" who is your enemy!
It's much easier to say: I'm a sinner. But if I believe in Christ I'm saved, because He died for my sins. So, since I can't help being a sinner anyway I can go on sinning, as long as I "believe".
Of course to believe in Jesus also means to walk in His footsteps and follow ALL His teaching, not just part of it.
What is the basis of His message? Love God with your whole being above all "things" and love your neighbour and your enemy. Jesus indicates that all laws or interpretations thereoff should align with these two. If they don't they are invalid.
Love - to think and act with compassion AND forgiveness toward "the other" - has been taught by a number of other "religions" as well. However, all but a few individuals have practiced it to (near?) perfection. I'm thinking of Mother Theresa for example.
To answer your question: the differences between the various "branches" of Chritianity are caused by human imperfection not by God. The choices of worship or how to pray, the views on what is sin and how sins can be forgiven, whether it's more important to do "good works" or "to believe" etc. etc., have caused differences of "opinions", even though they ALL basically believe that Jesus was right and they ALL want to follow in His footsteps. But they "all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God". (Romans 3:23)
We are not perfect and keep making mistakes! We need to go back to the basics, realize our mistakes, regret them in our heart and ask for forgiveness and guidance.
We need to WANT to (not just because we've been told to) think and act with compassion and forgivenes, no matter how difficult that may seem, toward the "others" if we want to follow in His footsteps. "Denominations" have to strife for that as well in their practice and their teaching.

Asafaah,
to answer your question, jesus didn't really belong to a group.
he didn't have to, because he was god's only begotten son, to die for everybodys sins, and to spread the word of god, no matter what religion you were. God loves you, and everybody out there. I know it's hard, but if you believe jesus is the only son of god, and that he died for your sins, i promise you that u will go to heaven, and god will help you! he clearly says that in the bible.
sorry, i don't mean to preach. i just want to help . all i can say is pray. god will answer!

the number of views of God coincide directly with the number of people on earth ask two people in the same pew what God looks like and they will have a differ ant answer.
It depends on what you look for all religion has more common basic characteristics than differences

look to the Bible. it is the ultimate authority since it is the very Word of God. try Romans 6:23, Romans 3:23, Romans 5:8, John 3:16, Acts 16:31 and see what they say for yourself!
