Peanuts are part of the legume family -- so though one may be allergic to other nuts, too -- one can just be allergic to peanuts. Though most people with a peanut allergy stay completely away from all nuts because it's such a severe allergy

That is a wonderful question and I am going to have to do some research on that. In the mean time you could call your doctors office and ask them what they think about that. Have you ever noticed anything simular when eating other nuts? I would be very careful. I don't really have an allergy to them, but all nuts unless I eat very few cause me to have a Migraine headache. I can eat like a small bag of peanuts and I'm okay uless I already have a headache coming on and now I know enough not to eat nuts at that time. But I would check with a Doctors office, and just not take the risk until then. Good Luck to you.

It depends on the person, I used to work at a children's place. alot of them were allergic to peanuts,But i still saw them eating what looked like peanut butter. I asked the mom and she said it was almond butter....So no.. just because you are allergic to peanuts does not mean you will be allergic to all nuts.. although you might still be allergic to other nuts.

I know someone that is allergic to just peanuts but not any other kind of nut.

Yeah im allergic to some nuts too, but not all. Just need to do some trial and error.

Usually. Do not risk it. Assume you do. The second allergic reaction can be 10 times worse and kill.

possibly. mostly just peanuts. i never heard of anyone alegic to almonds or walnuts or pecans? good question
