Even when I pointed out that Christians are contradicting each other re: Old testament laws vs. New testament laws, and asked for clarification, nearly every answer I got contradicted the next one:
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/?qid=20060829184607AAjXdw0&r=w
One guy even contradicted himself by saying "Jesus did not overturn any of the laws." and "The Jews, I understand still live by the old law, but Christians do not" WTF???
OK , is it the case that some Christian sects believe one thing about this issue, and other sects believe something else?
Maybe baptists have one take, Methodists another, and Catholics yet another.
Could that be an explanation for these disagreements that Christians are having on this issue?

"With some being very questionable, the valid ones did not contradict each other in the very least."
I think the point is... WHICH ONES ARE VALID???
That's like after 10 answers are given, saying that someone's right, but refusing to say WHO.

I'll just answer the best I can, I'm no expert... Yes, we disagree on it, that's why there are sub-sections of Christianity. The only explanation is that people believe what they believe, and that's that... It's the same reason that there are different religions, I guess.

You may never get a straight out answer to your questions or one that will satisfy you.If you have many people read the same book (any book) you will have all different ideas about the book some will be the same, some will be different. You need to read and study the book yourself. Not all Christians believe and agree the exact same thing. They should all agree in their belief in God and Jesus Christ as His Son.The people in the Old Testament had alot of laws and rules to obey that was their way of serving God and being close to him. When Christ came to Earth and was crucified He did away with the old laws He took their place. Now to be close to God we accept and believe in Jesus. We still must follow some laws like The Ten Commandments but they are rules anyone should follow to have a good moral life.We don't have to be consumed by adhering to the minute details of the old law.In the New Testament some Pharisees were so concerned about following the old law to the letter that they couldn't accept Christ for who he was,He set us free and gave us a new commandment- to love everyone. That's really all that matters.Remember Jewish people do not accept Jesus as the Messiah, they still follow the old law. It's their interpretation. You will always get different opinions, this is mine.I hope you find yours, it's not as hard as you think.

I suppose there might be differences in what the different denominations of Christians believe regarding a new law under Christ, but as someone who has both studied it and converted to Chrisianity later in life, I believe all sects have the same core beliefs.
The more likely explanation for what you view as contradictions in the answers to your last question is either misunderstanding on the part of the people who chose to answer, or simply a use of different wording/language.
Now, I'm not a biblical scholar, but I do read and believe in the Bible. The way I understand it, Christ did a little bit of both (to answer your first question). He specifically said that he came not to abolish the "law" but to fulfill it. I think this meant that he viewed himself as the fulfillment of all Jewish law and prophecy.
However, in a way, he also overturned the Jewish laws, in that he kind of made them obsolete (he already fulfilled what the law demanded). Example : B.C., the Jews had to make sacrifices in temples to rectify themselves with God - A.D. Christ was the ultimate sacrifice, making the animal sacrifices unneccessary. I could go on, but somehow I doubt you want me to!
Anyways, this is not a good forum for this kind of discussion, since meaning and intent is frequently lost or misconstrued with typing.
Although I don't appreciate the comments your question has created, I do appreciate you asking the questions. I hope my answer has helped a bit.

Jesus was overturning or modifying the laws of Moses, but how far to go is up to US!
Jesus was clear on a few things like Fornication. He said, to not be a fornicator all men should Marry. So Jesus clearly thought Fornication was still not a great thing.
Jesus, however, did not want people to stone fornicators to death at the city gates, so this is another point of view.
We have free will and it's up to US to decide.
Basically, if you take a girl, mate with her, she is your wife and you can't set her aside unless you catch her having sex with some other guy.
Nothing official needs be done, other than you sticking it into her. That makes her your wife.
If the girl gets fat and ugly and yells at you, too bad! Live with it!
The various sects believe in many things and the Bible warns you not to follow FALSE prophets, if the POPE or BILLY GRAHAM says things you don't, in your heart, think are good Christian things to do, don't follow them!
God and Jesus expect YOU to decide what is right and wrong.
If you make the wrong choice they your name may not be in the book of life.
It can be as simply as aligning yourself with a spirtual leader and even Martin Luther King could be the wrong leader. Choose carefully and don't just DO what they say.
Look at the examples of Jesus.
Jesus has some conflicts. He says TURN the other CHEEK and CARRY A SWORD, then he also said those who LIVE by the SWORD die by the SWORD.
Jesus expects you to hold your own in a SWORD FIGHT, but not VANQUISH, only PREVAIL.
A dead Christain bears no witness.
There is a fine line between ANIMALS and HUMANS
Animals DON'T MAKE WAR
Humans do
Human's love defective babies, ANIMALS let them die, as a general rule
Learn the right way to be.
God is watching.
God is writing into a book
That book determines if you go with God or stay on Earth in the lake of fire!
It is UP to EACH of us to learn to DO THE RIGHT thing!

I think I answered this in your last question, but yes. Different denominations will teach different understandings of the Bible. Jewish people on the other hand our not Christian people at all. They do not believe the Jesus is the real Messiah. This is why they only follow the laws of the Old Testament. They do not believe in Jesus' teachings as they don't believe he is the son of God.

That's one disagreement among "Christians" but not the only one. The most famous disagreement in Christianity was about politics- whether the Pope should be allowed to be the spiritual father for every Christian. That led to a debate about traditions of the church vs. pure scripture, whether saints are an idea authorized by God or only by a man, when it is appropriate to be baptized, what are the proper incantations for prayer- mostly "in Jesus name" or "in the name of the F, S and HG."
And further disagreements as to how much to revere a man of God and how to address that man, but this again is a political issue, not a theological one.
I assume you are Muslim. Is this enough fuel for your fire? Is it much different from the Shiite/ Sunni debate? And then the Aamadiyas and Bahais. Let's not forget Sufis.
Can't we all just get along?

Jesus was supposed to fulfil the Old Testaments of the Jewish Nation.Yea the Jews still live by the OLD TESTAMENT laws as they did not accept Jesus as the apponted Messiah.
The Christians are supposed to follow the teaching of the CHRIST to be called CHRISTians. But most also still follow more of the OLD TESTAMENTS than the NEW TESTAMENT as it gives them more power over the congregations.Through fear and shame.

Gone from simple Christian-baiting to wedge-driving...
The central theme of Christianity: Jesus was present and participant at the creation of the universe, that as God the Son, was crucified as as a fulfillment of the law of Moses (a final atonement, a blood sacrifice for the sins of the world), and that He rose from the dead to initiate the age of grace, is in full agreement by all Christian denominations.
There are other doctrines that are in agreement, as well, and a quick perusal of "What We Believe" sections in Christian websites should answer your remaining questions.

we disagree because we do not have all the right answers.
Jesus did NOT say that the Jewish laws were wrong. He said: love God and love man; this is the purpose for the law. It is not wrong to be Jewish and follow the Law. We all just need to keep the purpose of the law and apply it with love.
Do not be fooled into thinking that Christians are the only owners of the truth.

No, just the view of a slowly falling religion.
Reasons-
1. The cross used to mean something, now gangsters where it
2. An increasing population of spiritualists are breaking away
3. Even the Southern Baptists have overly rebelling teens
4. The weight of the pope's words are now almost nil
etc.
