Here's the sceanerio, If I only eat one type of fat free food like green beans, am I going to gain weight or lose weight because it's the only thing i'm eating? Will I still be hungry if I eat the beans all day long? This is just a question brought up while partaking in some extracurlicular activities! haha..

What you are doing makes no sense. Additionally, if you eat too many calories of any kind you can gain weight -though it would be hard to eat enough green beans to gain weight!!

Here is a sensible plan for healthy weight loss ...

1. Eat three nutritious meals and three snacks everyday. Cut out junk food.

2. Drink lots of water - at least 8 big glasses as day. Stop drinking soda.

3. Begin a simple weight lifting program at home. Ordinary household items (tins of soup, for example) can serve as weights for beginners.

4. Buy yourself a pedometer and aim for 10,000 steps a day.

5. Record everything you eat and all you exercise to make sure you have a "calorie deficit". Two of the sites I've included will help you do that.

6. Park at the back of the parking lot instead of close to the door. Always use stairs - never the elevator or escalator.

I hope this helps. Best of luck. Take care of yourself. You now have the only body you will ever have.

You will literally starve to death.... The human body cannot survive on green beans alone. There just isn't enough nutrition in green beans. Your muscles are made up of protein. The more muscles you have, the more energy/calories your body will burn. If you don't give your body what it needs to run, it will steel protein from your muscles leaving you tired and drained. Also, if you are eating canned green beans, the salt content that is used to preserve them is much to high. The human body shouldn't consume more than one table spoon of salt a day. Also, your body and your brain needs fat to work efficiently. It's when we eat the wrong kind of fat and too much of it that causes the problem.

Most likely you will be hungry ALL day long, especially if what you're eating is green beans. Nonfat food such as vegetables don't make you fat, but they also don't keep you full. Try something nonfat but higher in calories so you stay fuller longer, such as sweet potatos. If you eat those for every meal you will stay full and you won't snack, plus you'll lose weight.

I've lost 5 kilos in my first week. It's my 10th day and I have included salad with some protein (eg. egg/ lean chicken) as you suggested. After 4 years of trying, the fat is finally coming off. It truly feels like magic!

The number of calories you eat is also important, whether it has fat or not. But if it is the only thing you're eating, your body is missing out on other nutrients, and you will eventually get sick.

If you eat nothing but one type of food you may lose weight in the short term, but malnutrition will kick in and you'll look and feel terrible.

If you eat lots of veggies along with whole grains, fruit, and lean meat, you'll have less appetite and you'll lose weight.

its not just the "fat" that makes people gain. its also the sugar intake and the salt, and also the carbs. now lets say you're looking at trail mix, sure you think its healthy, but its not, you just have to watch your portions. there is a lot of sugar in dried fruits, now sure they are healthier than eating junkfood, but you must stick to the portion intake!
