You could apologize nicely, saying that you didnt mean to be disrespectful, but that you were frustrated and want to maybe tlak about other things. Tell him that next time you will ask if everyone can change the subject.
or, you could appeal to your mom, and tell her you were trying to get him to stop, but it just didnt come out right when you said it- could she help you smooth things out.
dont worry- it will blow over in time, either way you go. just remember, if you think it would offend your friends to say something like that to them, it will surely offend you parents. they are people too.

You got angry about your Dad's behavior because you were a virtual prisoner in the car, with no way to not hear his screaming anger about politics. Being the kid means your Dad has the upper hand. You said he won't understand if you try to explain your position so if you are looking for him to get over his anger then you have to apologize even if you don't want to. It stinks but it is the reality of the situation. If at all possible, in the future when in the car with your Dad try to bring your ipod and earphones. Hope this helps.

I'm sorry; it probably wasn't the smartest thing in the world to yell or talk that loudly to your dad. He probably found it offensive or something...I would say write him a letter and put it someplace he's bound to find. I know talking to your dad can be weird; I feel weird talking to him frequently...but write a note just saying "Sorry for talking the way I did, I was out of line..." Notes mean taking time to write to him and make up things between the two of you. It's special. Try it! Also, talk to your mom!

at times you ought to in basic terms ought to dismiss demanding moves like this out of your household or perhaps gently ask the guy who's bothering you to communicate about something else for awhile and elements it a spoil as its tiring for each body else in the realm. good success.

Hi there. You don't know me, but I know you. I'm just a voice out of the blue, but I want to say that I think you are great. You deserve a friend and people ought to listen more to you. But please hang in there. You mean a lot to some of us. A whole lot! And finally, I think your jokes are funny.
