bridge the gap of indifferrences and lessen the threat brought about by religious war. But I don't understand why we put emphasis on the differences or perceived "flaws" on one doctrine and extend the hand of peace on another. Do we have to conquer first before and with all humility extend the hand of peace?

The trouble is that both Christians and Muslims are looking for Judgement Day.
And the wars aren't about religion. They're about business.
No hand of peace exists in either of those places.
A nice thought, though.

The answer is simple. Cell phones, iPods, and the Internet.

Think about it.

Here in the United States, there's a lot of antipathy between liberals and conservatives, blacks and whites, Anglophones and Hispanophones, but we don't go shooting each other. Why? Because we have so much to lose! If you're shooting people, or being shot at, you can't argue with people on Yahoo Answers. You can't talk with your boyfriend or girlfriend on your cell. You can't watch the game on your big plasma screen TV. Heck, you might not even be able to find a hot meal and a beer!

The key to world peace is to spoil everyone to the point where they are too lazy to kill each other.

I believe that for their to be peace between each other, there must be knowledge of what that person stands for, and a respect. A respect that this world is sadly missing, We as a culture, as different races, have got so caught up in our selves, in a selfish society, that we no longer can abide peacefully, because The bige I is in the way! Everyone just wants more for themselves, and that's it! So In order For Peace. There must be Respect, and WE don't have any here. so Peace will not exist

To bridge the gap between Muslims and Christians (and Jews for that matter) you need to tear the pages out of The Qu'ran that say that Jews and Christians are friends of Satan and need to be destroyed by Islam. Do that and there can probably be some peace.

It is an impossibility. Muslims demand that all other religions submitt to their beliefs or face the consequences.Take a good look at the wars going on in the world today. What you will find is that Islam preys on unstable nations like Sudan,Somalia,Afgahnistan,Chechneya...... What do muslim nations have in common? Murder,Rape, corruption, and dictatorship. Want to bridge the gap? Go ahead, but it might cost you your head.

Yes, there is a peaceful solution.

Christians line up, lay down on the gurney, put there heads in the block and wait to meet God.

Only by the blood of the saints will Islam be overcome. Lay down your lives for the sake of the gospel.

By my calculations, we will start this in about 6 years.

This is a great question.

I am a Christian, and I believe that people need to be more tolerant of other's beliefs in order to get along. We don't have to accept everything other people believe. Some time we just need to agree that we won't agree on some things. That doesn't mean we can't get along. As you've said. we put way too much emphasis on our differences.

Extend the hand of peace before any conquering or war nonsense comes about. Much more peaceful and nicer that way.

I can tell you from living amongst these people in the Middle East for years,
Unfortunately no, there is no common thread that the two sides are willing to admit, and no there is no way they can peacefully coexist. I know, it's hard to believe as a jaded American that people can't get along, but it is true. Sorry to break it to you friend.

I think that peace depends on seeing people as individuals and not just Christian or Muslim or blond or dark. What if we thought of each other as moms and dads or somebody's kids? Or AOL users or bird feeders or cat lovers or gardeners. Things could get lonely for the politicians and that might not be a bad thing
