Its me was correct with the use of salt water but really over 10min is just overkill, wont hurt anything but it's not necessary. Do not move the jewelry as he said though-use a q-tip, it's unnecessary to move the jewelry and will usually just end up damaging the fistula and pulling some of the crusties into the piercing. also cemerteryx was right about biotene, listerine is terrible to use for oral piercings-its to harsh and will kill the good bacteria along with the bad, making healing time longer. Any non-alcoholic mouthwash will work. Also carry a salt mixture 16oz bottle w/ 1/2tsp sea salt and when you are out and eat, drink, smoke, etc rinse your mouth out.

Use a mixture of sea-salt (can get it at a grocery store) and water. The water should be warm, not hot. And the mixture should taste only as salty as a tear. Soak for about 15 mins twice a day. This is what my (professional) piercer had me clean all of my piercings with. Also move it a little bit and take off the crusties AFTER you soak it. No peroxide, or alcohol, don't play with it too much... Happy holes!!

First - take that stupid piercing ring out of your lip. You look like an idiot.
Second - apply rubbing alcohol or an antibiotic ointment several times daily until the hole clears up.

Just use soap and water, they should have given you a solution to clean your lip to keep it from getting infected.

biotine, use it after every meal and snack. but if you use it to much you might start to get white stuff in your mouth, if that happens stop using as much and start rinseing your mouth out with water after you eat. clean the out side with poroxide , sea salt helps too but it stings. also popcicles will help with the swealing and pain.

Don't bother. It's only a few days until infection sets in, then gangrene, and then your lips fall off....

Listerine twice a day. That is what they told me to use for my tongue, it has antibacterial agents, and will help fight off germs and bacteria.
