Why do Jews have such a bad rep? Why do people think they are money-grubbing scumbags?

As i understand it the reputation come from the fact that the early Catholic Church would not allow the lending of money for interest, Usury.

So Jews who had no such prohibition were doing all the lending and profiting handsomely from it.

Well that didn't sit well with people of the time and Jews were accused of profiteering and being greedy bla bla...

Well that's a pretty loose explanation and I wouldn't write a dissertation based on my answer.

it,s not just jews that have a bad rep just stand back and listen to the racial jibes and hatred for other cultures ok yes the jews have suffered for far to long and it should stop and it should also stop for coloured people as well but unfortunatly there are idiots out there with motor mouths who can,t keep them shut and cause bad feeling which breads more bad feelings from others toward the other cultures but it is passed from generation to generation and will not stop and jews are not scumbags the only scumbags around are the one,s that can only beat up ladies and old men and are cruel to dumb animals and poor defenceless children they are the scumbags who putting down like savage dogs but even then it is only cruelty that has made the dog bad but what excuse does the bully scumbag have

When cultures collide often differences are highlighted and distorted. Sometimes some people in the culture group live up to the distortions and are a bad reflection on the rest.

As a group the Jewish people have historically been careful with their money, applying Old Testament principles to finances and passing those principles on to their children. Of course some Jewish people are not careful with their money and others may be stingy, but many are simply just careful and wise, which has sometimes resulted in great wealth.

Those who don't have good money management skills and so are not as wealthy, may react out of envy and call them "money grubbing scumbags."

I have never heard Jews were money grubbing scumbags.. What I do constantly hear though is Jews are tight asses.. And who cares.. there is nothing wrong with that! So the majority of them like to save there money, sounds pretty smart to me. They dont go out buying fancy brand name things etc.. they would spend $10 on a shirt before $100, that is smart! BEsides I believe somewhere in the faith as well as christianity it says that you shouldnt want or some crap and I THINK it says something about material things.. Again.. christians take what they want out of the bible and only follow that, where as every other religion follows it to its exact!

Jews love Christians because they worship what they think is a Jewish Son of God and Jews know that they share in that and are worshipped as God's chosen people, so what better rep do you expect?

Jews make the money off the Christians who are so dumb to worship a Jesus the Jews know to be false!

Stereotypes of racial, ethnic, cultural and other groups, linger through the mighty centuries. This sort of thing is for people who have too much time on their hands. I wouldn't care about anything that I was doing if it was God-based. Then I would already know that I am a good individual and go forward with what I am doing. People think anything that they wish about others. Most of the time, it is something hateful and crazy. If it is positive, people don't want to hear it. It seems as though it isn't much fun if it isn't gossip or something hurtful. I read Psalm 35 to (Plead My Cause) on a daily basis. The Lord hears me and gives me appropriate direction. It's hard to sum up in one paragraph, but there is a new movie out, I got it at Blockbuster and it's called "The Protocols of Zion", and it's all about all the stereotypes, and anti-Semites, and where it started and such. Great documentary/movie.

Although i wouldn't use the term 'scumbag", Jews were forced into banking and money-lending, where they were permitted to charge usury-level fees (which they had to kick-back some to the Christian kings) on loans.

This bred the money hatred against them.

Statistics. Just statistically banker, money lenders, etc. are a higher percentage Jewish. Also historically powerful bankers, money lenders back in the "old country" were Jewish. I have no idea how this applies to life today. Sorry.

People tend to hate what they inately recognize as superior to themselves. It's jealousy. Jews are God's chosen people, people know truth in their heart but reject it. That creates hate.
