Oh those first day of school jjtters! They're a beast!
Make sure to introduce your child to the bus driver, as well as stand out at the bus stop at pick up and drop off. I also wrote down the bus number for my children somewhere they would not lose it, as well as an emergency phone number, like in their backpack or something. Dont know if that helps, but it made me feel better.
Lots of children ride the buses, and the schools do a very good job with the little ones to ensure they are put on the right bus at the end of the day. Many let the little ones get onto the bus before the other grades, to make sure they know where they are going, and get safely on the bus first before the bigger kids arrive.
Try not to worry too much... get yourself a nice cup a tea after the bus leaves, and sit back and think what a new adventure your little one is starting, and what a good parent you are to be concerned.
best wishes!

I was scared the first day my only child (a daughter) went on the bus alone...it's perfectly normal to feel this way and will take a few weeks, maybe months to get over. Just talk with your little one about being careful, safe, etc. Wait with her until the bus comes and be there when she arrives home from school. (If you can't be there, perhaps a neighbor, relative, or friend can.) She may be a little scared at first too, but give it a week, and she will be a pro. My daughter cried the first day she came home from school, but in a matter of days, she was doing just fine...in fact, she soon looked forward to riding the bus and going to school. : )

Is there any way you could get your lil one to school without the bus? that would give you time to check the driver and wat sort of kids ride the bus with your lil one. I'm almost possitive your child will be fine on the bus, but if you could do these things then it may ease your mind a little. Good luck :)

What if you took you child to the bus stop, met the driver, and got child on bus then followed behind just to see for yourself that your child is fine. I wouldn't let the child see me though it may cause anxiety for him/her to see you. 1) he/she may think that you don't trust the driver therefore they shouldn't either or 2) may decide that they would rather go home with you

You could drive them the first day and have them sent home on the bus.

it can be a very nervracking thing when ur kids start to grow up. but just know shell be safe and having fun and wont be able to stop talking about it when she gets home. everyday itll get easier. she needs some time away from mommy to open up to other kids and make new friends. itll be good for her and probably good for you too . youll have time to work, clean, enjoy yourself, hang out with friends, or whatever else you please. itll all work out. try not to stress so much.

Been there and done that.. He/she will be ok. The drivers usually get all the smaller children to ride on the front seat areas so they can keep watch.
