why do we ignore the food and chothes laws but always use the verce about how a man should not lay with another man. if you are going to say god thinks that is a sin shouldn't you also say that we need to follow the clothes laws also? (ones should not wear wool and coton mixed)

Heh.... but you're right, it's odd....... some people say "oh, God told us to disregard the FOOD laws but not the REST".... so I suppose all the behavioral stuff is still in, according to them.
According to SOME verses, they are sll still in effect.
According to OTHERS, they were all abolished in favor of the new covenant.
I guess it's up to interpretation as the Bible pretty much contradicts itself (surprise surprise).

1 Corinthians 6:9-10 (New Testament - after Jesus, so not subject to the "do we follow levitical laws" question) says that "Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind **(that's gays for those who don't speak 400 year old King James English)**, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God."
So the whole "mixed clothes" debate is pointless. The New Testament clearly states that being a practicing homosexual
prevents one from inheriting the Kingdom of God.
Of course, so do a whole lot of other listed there. But just like drunks or thieves or fornicators etc., can turn from their unrighteousness and inherit the Kingdom, so can gays.
And before you give me the "That's the way I am - its natural for me", so is fornication for most straight guys. We have to fight the temptation of our sexual desires too. Same from many alchohalics. There is evidence that it is genetic - they are born that way. But it does not excuse them for doing it. Or "revilers", people with natural sarcastic and sadistic personalities.
Everyone has to fight unnatural desires in their flesh. But failing to do that - or worse yet embracing it as "good" or "desirable" - will keep that person from being able to get the blessings of the Kingdom of God.

Because the 'food and clothes laws' you refer to, was not a part of Christ's Law that James and Paul recorded for us.
But Paul did say we as true christians was to dress modestly.

I am surprised that so many people don't understand that the Old Testament laws were written for the protection of the ancient Jews who lived and wandered in the dessert. When these laws were given to them there were many hazards that would kill the people unless they were given strict guidelines within their religion to keep them safe and keep them fearing their God without whom they probably would not survive. These protection laws did in fact pertain to their food and clothing and hygiene, and many of them were connected to their laws of worship.
On the other hand, the Commandments God gave Moses pertained to their laws of Morality. The first three of these Commandments pertained to the way the heart must perceive and worship God; and the last seven pertain to they way they must treat and respect others.
When Jesus came as the Messiah (the promised one that God would send to save His people from their sins), the world had modernized a little and the living and societal conditions of most Jews was alto better than when they were nomads in the dessert. At that point they probably no longer needed some of the more strict laws about food and clothing to keep them safe and alive.
Jesus pointed out that he came to abolish those laws but because the Jews had become so attached to those laws, their hearts were all about the "Law" and they forgot how to love their God. Jesus told them that he was establishing a new covenant that put more importance on Love and forgiveness than on the ancient laws. This was a concept that many Jew, especially the Pharisees and Sadducee's could not accept because it diminished the power they had over the people. They were threatened by Jesus' popularity and that is why they wanted him crucified.
The laws of Morality, given by God and written in several books of the Old Testament have never changed. They are all summed up in the ten Commandments and the last two given by Jesus Himself, "Love God with all of you heart and soul, and love your neighbor as yourself.". Jesus also said, "If you love me keep my commandments.". However, in ancient Israel there were laws about marriage that Jesus changed. The Mosaic Law stated that a man could divorce his wife under certain circumstances and remarry, But under the New Covenant established by Jesus, he told us that a man cannot divorce his wife and remarry because he would be committing adultery and worse, he would be the cause of the other party also committing adultery. However the laws pertaining to homosexuality and bestiality have never changed. God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah because of that and Jesus has never said that God has changed his mind on that subject. The sins of the flesh are the most abhorred by God. It was for these sins that our Savior had to suffer numerous horrible laceration of the flesh all over his body before he was crucified so that when he died for those sins He was the sin and it died with Him so that if we accept His Sacrifice on our behalf, we will gain eternal life with Him in Heaven in spite of our sins. Of course we have the responsibility to repent of our sins with a firm purpose of amendment to be able to receive the forgiveness that Jesus died for, that we may have it.

The laws were written to protect us and not just to condemn us. If you are saved you are not under the laws. But Jesus said the law would not pass away. Hmmm, something to think about, eh?
