the light or heat is a major draw for them

Most insects do not have ears to hear according to Orkin commercial. So they shouldn't come to an electronic device because they hear something. I have learned that cockroaches are attracted to electronic devices because of the heat. They like it warm. If the A/C is running real cold or it is winter, they will move into the microwave or a light fixture to stay warm. (had a rental house). Other insects may come for the heat also.

I don't think it has to do with the fact that they are electronic. They are attracted to the heat and/or light the electronic thing puts out.

Most of them seem that they do. As for tvs or moniters they project out light and they seem to be attracted to that to come and land on your screen and bug you. As for roaches I saw this on tv the other week, theat there attracted to the electric things like cordless phone bases and things. They love the electromagnetic places. So yea it does seem to have a major effect on bugs. O and for gnats, they love fruit so if you have fruit laying out in your house and the screens are open look out. once before we had bananas laid out and the whole house was filled with gnats by night. couldnt get rid of them. so i got online and found out that gnats are more attracted to vinegar. laid out vinegar that night and all of them were dead and gone.
