Can I install Ubuntu Linux on a Mac LC575?

I have a Ubuntu Version 6.06 LTS for Mac. I can't get the mac to boot from the cd drive,also I can't get to the mac desktop because it has Kid Desk School Version 1.0 on it and I can't get out of it to get back to the desktop to access the CD drive. Hope someone can help me.

Doubtful, I think it is a PowerPC G2 machine; or even earlier.
