After all the terror threats/new restrictions, can you still bring an I-Pod on an international flight?

P.S. This is for my mum, who is leaving on an overseas trip to Finland tomorrow.

Yes, but you just can't have any violent or disorderly songs stored on it. The last thing we need is some terrorist breaking out into gangsta' rap or thrash punk.

YES, it's fine to bring on board. You will need to turn it off during take-off and landing. The flight attendant will make an announcement. Don't listen to the person that told you not to take anything carry-on. Airlines are famous for loosing luggage or delivering it late and you will have to be overseas without essentials if that happens. Trust me, I work for an airline.

Don't take anything that you do not need on carry on. Also if it uses a battery thats a no no, otherwise we will see a story on the nightly news returning after takeoff to Finland :)

here is a little story about an Ipod on a flight

Yes, you can carry it with you. No restrictions on that unless travelling to or from the UK.

why wouldn't u be able to carry it/ i think it would be ridiculous and petty to prevent someone from carrying an ipod on board, its Savior from all that plane music.

It depends. Call the airline you are using and ask them directly for the best answer.
