My friend (Call her Ann) went on vacation, met this guy,a nds has been phoning him. She thought her mother had cleared it with her dad, but recently found out her mum had not. How does ann tell her dad that she has been phoning a boy for the last month? (Ann is 16)

Gosh!!! Is she afraid to breathe around her dad. She needs to go to him right away and tell him that she thought her mom had said something to him, then ask for permission right then. Make sure he knows she meant no disrespect. Most of all tell her to make her goals now for a successful future of "taking care of herself" and move out of the house when she graduates HS. Go to college and succeed, succeed, succeed. The boy will fall by the way side possibly, but her future cannot be wasted.

Just tell him. Better to tell the truth and get in a little trouble than lie or get caught (which is the same thing) and be in even bigger trouble and never get to call him again

Well, if her dad is really strict, very carefully. Or she could lie and say that they are just friends. If he's generally cool about it, just tell him straight up.
