In the coming weeks and months, the immigrant rights movement will continue to debate legislation, tactics and much else besides. The voice of the grassroots activists and the left in the nationwide debates will be strengthened as a result of the widely attended conference in Chicago and the formation of the National Alliance for Immigrant Rights.

Legal is a realtive term, if you are so concerned over the Law maybe you should focus on the legality of the Bush Administration violating the Geneva Conventions by holding POWs in Guatanamo Bay and fabricating a legal term called "detainee" to do so... start there.

If you want to understand what my question addresses it is basically saying that this kind of legislation of humanity is unacceptable and will not be tolerated. Join the Minutemen (yes MEN) fast because you will have to meet an organized force the next time this issue is drummed up. The people that the Administration messed with have a long history of repression where they came from and won't let it happen to them again here... certainly not from the weak bigots who try to opress them for political gain or impotent racist beliefs.

No, I do not support nor endorse this group. The simple fact is that there is a normal LEGAL way to enter this country. And this is a group that appears to be circumventing the law. How can any law-abiding citizen support a group that publicly ignores the law? The time a group such as this spends in trying to convince Americans that illegals are not really illegal could be better spent on helping immigrants go through the LEGAL process to enter this country.

Then why don't they go back and fight the people that oppressed them. If the come legally they have rights, if they come illegally they do not have rights, Daaaaaam ! you are dense. They don't have the guts to stop the oppression in their own country, and they come here trying to change us. THEY DON'T HAVE RIGHTS IF THEY ARE ILLEGAL. now dose that make sence. The Bush administration did not break the Geneva convention, by housing POW's If you want to go hold hands with them they would be glad to have you, they would love to slit your throat.

LMAO! They are starting to make the same mistake Americans are by having too many little groups and not one big group! That would be an easy group since they don't have many rights. Human rights? OK any other rights are fiction. Actually yes but I couldn't get a stamp on that baggie that **** in.

Legal immigrant rights are protected by the laws of the United States.

If Vicente Fox was allowed to expel 3 million Guatemalans, why does he condemn the US for following his lead? Why are illegal rights activists not condemning Mexico? They actually did it!

Next, it will be the terrorists rights movement.

There was a National Alliance for Immigrant Rights formed this month?

Do tell.

Legal immigrants, or illegal immigrants?

If it's illegal immigrants, from whence do they derive their rights?

There is no point to presuade silly "Americans" whose ancestors got FREE PASS to defend people who simply want chance for a better life. How will they look as us once we are legalized, that's interesting...
