I would like to ask all the kind and tolerant christians ad atheists to stop fighting. I know you are kind people, so if you ever see anyone putting someone else down or insulting any certain group or religion tplease defend those being hurt. Do it in a kind way, hatred never ceases by hatred, only by love, this is the eternal rule. This place is supposed to be a spot where people can go to for spiritual guidance and help, but it has been turned into a battlefield between two belief systems. Show the mean, insulting people that they are not helping any body, perhaps they will listen to those of their own faith and become more like them. Please, for the good of the yahoo! questions?

I agree. The world is made up of so many different people with many beliefs, but we should still be able to discuss them without resorting to rudeness and insulting remarks. If you want to convince someone to see your point of view, that approach will not work, it will only turn people against it. Thank you for caring.

Dear Makiko:
Yes, the Church divisions of Fundamentalists and Traditionalists, Catholics, Eastern religions, and, non-denominational Spiritual believers etc., fighting back from the blows of Atheists has been quite a "war."
The "baiting of Christians" by the Atheists is almost devil-ish in their desire to break down the faith of Christians in this Forum.
However, in the midst of all these people interpreting God and His Love in so many different ways that it "bedazzles" the mind, a Presence has entered into this Forum. Because, it belongs to Him.
I am seeing a "shift" from bad language to more respectful Answers and Questions. I am seeing a "shift" in the quality of Answers. Instead of so many "flip" off the wall Answers I saw two months ago, I NOW see people starting to "give" something to each other. An effort to say MORE than just a few words ; or one single sentence. People who did that before - are now entering a whole paragraph of information and truly giving of themselves. I acknowledge this effort.
Jesus is in this Forum. To be able to use this form of media and reach people all over the world is another tool for Him that He takes quite seriously.
I know debating, feeling divided, narrowly seeing only your own way of thinking, calling each other names and "toying" with each other's beliefs is not what He taught and has nothing at all to do with the original Church He founded through His disciples.
He cares nothing for interpreting and debating. Never did He say, "take my words and interpret them." He said, if you have ears to hear. . .then hear." Do as I do. Think as I think. And He knows He made Himself quite clear. If we have questions or feel confused about what He spoke, He is still available and still teaches through the Mind. You may ask Him questions and He will Answer. You will hear Him in your Mind. When you have learned how to HEAR Him, there will be no more interpreting necessary. He enters your Mind by invitation only.
The Original Church was non-denominational. It has split into many pieces and fragments - with different names - and all interpreting Him, differently ! Look at the Fruit of this situation !
Jesus, never intended for it to be this way.
All of you, consider His Presence in this Category. For He is here. Whether you are Buddhists, Islamic or Christian, or Hindi, ultimately, your teachers were all taught by The Holy Spirit. All great and inspired thinking is through the Holy Spirit. We are not divided after all! Nor was it ever intended to be so.

There is a thing when people get blinded or influenced by extreme factors. Some people may have bad experiences or heard bad rumors regarding the other group. There are many more ways.
But the thing is, the one golden rule we always tend to forget is to not do to others what you would not want to have done to you. If you don't want to be hurt, don't hurt someone else. It's simple.
It's okay to have different views, but it's not okay to abuse.

I am an atheist and I don't think I argue with theists often. I reject their beliefs, but I generally try to help anyone looking honestly for advice or guidance. Some of them blatantly open themselves to attack though, and I admit I do reply. I shall keep your thoughts in mind. I think there is nothing worse than intolerance.

The heart above all is evil and corrupt. What comes out of a person is what makes them unclean, not what goes into someone. From the wellspring of the heart the mouth speaks.

It's true I'm Christian and when I speak to an atheist I don't try to insult them or demote them and I would wish they would do the same for me.
