They're not just "ignoring", but misreporting, if what you claim is true. I have seen several news spots that claim that American casualties have been falling as the sectarian violence has increased. (By the way, if anyone uses a term like "liberal media", he or she labels himself or herself as narrow-minded or closed-minded, because the word "liberal" means "open-minded".

Attacks against Iraqi Police and Military forces have increased, but our troops have yet to be killed except for the recent death of 8 which was reported immediately. Basically, if it won't increase the American Body count, the media wants nothing to do with it.

I'd say the "conservative media" doesnt want to cover it because
(1) coverage might even turn the conservatives against the government and
(2) coverage will definitely piss the liberals off even more, haha
In a nut shell...they probably believe that no coverage is good coverage in this case.

Probably because the topic is no longer holding popular interest. Death is depressing, and there is no end in sight. So, like any good company, all of the media outlets are giving their customers what they want. Entertainment.
