I have a steady work history (18+ years in same position), good income (45K), but bad credit history. I need a car for around $6K but cannot find a dealer who will let me pay each month to him/her. I would even give post-dated checks. I am in the same house as I have been for 18 years -- not going anywhere, and I want to finance for only 12-15 months. I am near New Orleans. Can anyone help? My situation is a difficult one, but my credit situation does not tell the whole story. Thanks for your time.

Oh, I think there are a ton of places that only care if you have a job. I would nomrally advise buying an older car for cash, but since you're only looking at a shorter term, that's not so bad.

I know that JD Byrider can help you out. Just be sure to do your homework before buying the car. Sometimes they can be a little shady. But they do have there own finance company.

Look in the internet and also in free magazines in shops or supermarkets. They only problem with buy here, pay here is that the interest can be VERY high.
