What types of home remedies are there for quiting ciggaretts? I've tried so many times to quit and I just keep goin back. What can i do to keep my mind off of smoking? I don't want to kill myself, I just can't help it.

When I was still young, and decided to quit smoking, I used to put a small piece of wax inside my cheek every morning. I would suck on it when I was having a particularly bad craving, and slide it back into my cheek when the craving subsided.

I used wax because I didn't want to consume any calories. So, no candies, no gum. My dependance on the wax binky lasted about 3 weeks. I was doing just fine at not smoking again, even when out drinking, until my husband pulled one of his *ssinine tantrums, and got himself yet another girlfriend because I "wasn't good enough for him".

I finally ended up quitting for good 10 years ago. Cold turkey. Because I could not breathe. I was beginning to pass out every time I smoked. (And I no longer had the aggravation of my ex-husband. I had divorced him 6 years before then.)

Don't let that much time go by for you.

I have heard that oranges can help you quit. My grandmother used them and it worked. Whenever she had an urge for a cigarrette, she would eat an orange. Some times it would make her nauseous because she really wanted a cigarret, not an orange, but she stuck with it and after a while her body no longer asked for it.

try keeping your hands and mouth busy, chew gum, chew on a tooth pick (works for my hubby) keep a bunch of hard candies on hand.
