Why were the writers of the old testament and new testament different? We treat their writings as infallible.
The prophets of old spoke infallibly in God's name.
All these were certainly sinners.
It's only right then, that the pope, when circumstances warrant, is also able to govern the church with power and judgment that is infallibly ratified by God in heaven, just as Jesus promised:
Mat 16:18 And I say to thee: That thou art Peter; and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
Mat 16:19 And I will give to thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven. And whatsoever thou shalt bind upon earth, it shall be bound also in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth, it shall be loosed also in heaven.
The pope possesses the authority from God to faithfully execute the holy office of chief pastor of the universal church. That's what makes him special ... very special.

For the Pope to chat ex Cathedra,he has to chat out of Catholic Apostolic custom and that would avert mendacity. The :cathedra" isn't a actual "seat"yet conversing interior the function of the Vicar of Christ and Steward of the Church as spokesman for Jesus and the finished Church. verify Catechism of the Catholic Church paragraphs 882,890 and891 it truly is no longer basically like the function of the President and Prophet of LDS,yet a function of provider and submission to the finished be responsive to God(Bible in custom interior the Church) and could be obtrusive and intentional and easily in specific situations( exercising of amazing magisterium)of definition of religion and morals. So the Pope, who can lie basically like every person else and in existence isn't impeccable(sinless),basically might desire to no longer lie at the same time as exercising consultation this charism. it is likewise possible to work out the stainless concept and the Marian Assumption as incorrect yet there's no way which you will coach them to be lies or intentional deceptions. This ex cathedra exercising of infallibillity by using the Pope has basically got here approximately two times in 2000 years,so it truly is a plenty humbler exercising of infallibility than that of many Protestant pastors I certainly have commonly used,a number of whom make infallible interpretations and edicts each Sunday.

Jesus passed authority onto to kepha(peter), what he bound on earth would be bound in heaven......... peter was a man, Jesus passed him the keys to heaven as man can't live forever, at least on earth, peter would in turn pass on the keys to a successor, and so the line of papacy passed on from peter to this very day it continues. the word pope isn't in the bible but it is the term we gave which just means father. remember that rapture isn't in the bible either,it is just the term some use to refer to the end times.

Jesus said to him in reply, "Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah. For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my heavenly Father. And so I say to you, you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of the netherworld shall not prevail against it. I will give you the keys to the kingdom of heaven. Whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven; and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven." (Matthew 16:17-19)
The Catholic Church believes the Lord made Simon alone, whom he named Peter, the "rock" of his Church. He gave him the keys of his Church and instituted him shepherd of the whole flock.
Pope Benedict XVI is the direct successor of Simon Peter.
With love in Christ.

He's not. One of the titles for the pope is "the Vicar of Christ", which translated, means Anti-Christ. He does a lot of things which are against the Bible.
