When a baby starts solid foods or begins burping without assistance. Some kids it's three months the next might be almost a year. Watch your child for signs they don't have air build up causing discomfort or try not burping and see if they are uncomfortable. The main reason for burping is because infants do not know how to swallow properly and breath through the mouth while eating causing a build up of gas in the stomach. If your child breaths mostly through the nose and swallows food without making most of it come out of their mouth (caused by tongue movement during swallowing) then most likely you can stop burping the child.

Well, try for 10 to 15 minutes, and then if they don't burp by then you can stop.

I wouldn't say there is any hard and fast rule with that. My kids just stopped needing burped...so I stopped burping them. If you notice them not burping, then they must not need it.

I found with my daughter that once she began to sit on her own...she would automatically burp once she sat up.

Around ten months old they're pretty good about getting the gas bubbles out.They still need some help from time to time.Just remember all babies are different ,time will tell.
