I'm thinking of buying a V reg for £2700 from eBay with high spec but 90k motorway miles. It has a partial service history and 11 months MOT.

Anyone aware of any reliablity issues with a cougar with high mileage? Any other useful/relevant comments about the 2.5 cougar would also be welcome.

Mercury Cougar in the USA this car is not the race car a little heavy for the output of the engine The duratech engines Here make 200 HP. and displacement is a full 4.0L I would pass this car for something like a Lotus Elise or Extrige I just could not see you looking into the shop windows in a cougar saying I look Great in this car!

too dear, these are not particularly sought after, they are thirsty and dont look so good.
check for misty headlights £300 each, overheating, and abs pump faults £1350 for new pump. they are heavy on the front tyres and the doors can be a bit scruffy from the carpark dents.

I have worked on them, and am sorry to say, they are a real pain in the butt. One experience, is if you have to have the alternator replaced, it took 2 days. Cause they have it located under the motor, and no easy way to get to it. Sorry to dissappoint. Good luck.
