Jesus said the first and highest commandment was to love God and the second commandment was to love one's neighbor. What did Mohammed, blessed be his name, and the Koran say on this subject? Thank you for response

The Qur’an tells us that all of mankind is descended from one couple, Adam and Eve. Thus we are all brothers and sisters, and our differences in languages and colors are but a mercy that we might know one another. Language and race should never be a reason for discriminating against people.

A Muslim should maintain good relations with his relatives, but he should not unjustly favor them over others. Further, a Muslim must be good to his neighbors, no matter their religion. But the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) taught us that a “neighbor” is not just the one next door but includes all those up to seven doors away - effectively a whole neighborhood.

This concern for our neighbors can take many forms. It means to ensure that our neighbors have the basic necessities, for a Muslim should not eat if his or her neighbor is going hungry. It means that Muslims should wish for their neighbors what they wish for themselves. It means sharing their happiness and sorrow. Further, it means to not spy on them and respect their privacy, to not gossip about them, to not harm them in any way, and to keep common use areas — such as apartment building entrances, streets and sidewalks — clean.

The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) was told of a woman who prayed and fasted a lot and gave alms generously, but whose neighbors complained of her abusive tongue. He said that she would be in Hellfire. When he was told of another woman who did not do all those extra acts of worship but whose neighbors were happy with her, he said that she would be in Paradise . Thus we see the importance of being good to our neighbors, both in actions and words.

Assalamualaikum

The Prophet Mohammed (pbuh) said "Ash hadu anla Illaha Illalah" and "La Illaha Illalah" which means "There is no other God except Allah and none has the right to be worshipped except Allah."

Islam also teaches tolerance for others' beliefs and to do good to others but in no way must a Muslim be corrupted by beliefs that may lead him stray from worshipping Allah.

Some of the Quran's teaching may be extreme but the point here is to worship God/Allah alone and to do good to others.

Peace.

I think this ayah (verse) best answers your question. Although there are many more.
It is Surah(Chapter) Baqarah(The Cow): ayah 177

[2:177] It is not righteousness that ye turn your faces Towards east or West; but it is righteousness- to believe in God and the Last Day, and the Angels, and the Book, and the Messengers; to spend of your substance, out of love for Him, for your kin, for orphans, for the needy, for the wayfarer, for those who ask, and for the ransom of slaves; to be steadfast in prayer, and practice regular charity; to fulfil the contracts which ye have made; and to be firm and patient, in pain (or suffering) and a dversity, and throughout all periods of panic. Such are the people of truth, the God-fearing.

As Muslims, we have to love our Allah (God) more than our own soul. So our prophet said; " Remember lord (Allah) in every respiration" There are many verse about neighbor, how to treat them with with respect I just cant recall it. But here are a few; "Let there be no compulsion in religion." (Al-Quran 2:225)
"If anyone has got an atom of pride in his heart, he will not enter paradise." (Bukhari)
Thank you for asking this question.!

The best neighbor is one who behaves best towards his neighbors." (Tirmidhi)

He (peace be upon Him) also said:

"Whosoever believes in Allah and the Day of Judgement should treat his neighbor kindly." (Muslim)

On another occasion, he is narrated to have addressed Abu Dharr (an honorable Companion):

"O! Abu Dharr... when you prepare soup add a little more water to it, and see if your neighbor needs some." (Muslim)

That person will not enter the Paradise whose neighbor is not safe against his mischief."

Peace be upon them all, And to love and respect all the good people of allah like "Zakareya, The Virgin Mary, Abu Bakir, Omar, Othman and Aly exetra. to beleive in the judgement day and the after life "Heaven and hell".
