okay, i've known this guy for two years, he's flirted tons. for example, we've held hands, sat "close" to each other (we sit next to each other all the time when we watch movies,) he's had his arm around me, he always touches my face and he tries tickling me, etc, etc. BUT he's had 3 girlfriends in the passed two years and he knows that i like him. now he just broke up with the third one. please don't be mean. are those signs of liking someone? is he just scared or what? i can't figure him out anymore!

You will not know if you don't ask him.

It sounds to me like he thinks of you as a best friend and he is toying with the idea of a relationship but he does not want to lost you like he lost his other girlfriends.

You need to know the true reasons those other relationships did not work out. Was it because he was unfaithful? Was it because he lied to them or mistreated them? Was it because he could not make a longterm committment to them? Was it because he was dating girls who we really was not compatible with? Once you know the answers, you will know if it is wise to build a relationship with him.

Another important issue is age. How old are you? How old is he? If you are both in high school or junior high school, you are both too young to be exclusively dating just one person. This is the time to date several people (strictly platonic) to learn about the qualities you are looking for in a a person to have a strong relationship and the qualities you need to avoid in a person to have a strong relationship.

I wish you and your friend all the best!

I think you should invite him over to your house for dinner and seduce him. Depending on how that goes, you'll know whether to move forward or not.
