I have an old picture of him sparing with his trainer looking on. It was taken on the beach in the Hamptons, New York. From the looks of there clothing, it was around the 1930's. I'd like to know his stats and if he was a pro?

There are a lot of Bob and Bobby Roberts listed at boxrec.com but only one Roberto Roberts. He could be the one you're referring to. Not much information about him. He fought a total of 3 times in the US winning 1 by KO, losing 1 and drawing the other, all in the year 1926. Check out the link below:

Murph ~
I'm sorry to say, I've never heard of him. I asked some of the old timers of the game that I know and they never heard of him either. He may have been an amateur fighter, you know back in those days the amateurs didn't have to wear jerseys (tank tops) or head gears (I'm referring to the picture you saw) and if the case was he was a amateur unless he won the Golden Gloves or Nationals or some other big Tournament then I think finding out about his stats is going to very difficult. I wish you much success in finding out everything you possibly can about Mr. Roberts. Good Luck Murph.
