Not from patting your dog, although it is a good idea to wash your hands very well afterwords. If you let your dog sleep in your bed, or if you walk around barefoot in his yard or if you allow him to eat off your food and then take a bite yourself you are at risk to get worms too, but just petting your dog should be safe. You may want to buy your dog over the counter wormer medicine, or take him to a vet to get wormed so he is not in discomfort, but other than that you just have to becarefull about not exposing yourself to worms. Also if you have any other pets do not allow them to eat after or go in the same yard space your infected dog goes in, or they will get worms too! Good luck Hope this helps

no. the only way you would be able to get worms from your dog is if you are touching the stool. If you do pick up the stool from your yard(as you should do so the puppy doesn't reinfest himself) just wash your hands afterward and you will be fine

NO! You can get worms if you eat a segmented piece that comes out of the butt. Or if you eat a piece of faeces or if you eat a piece of the worm egg.

dogs get mostly heart worms and intestinal worms! the heart worm is transmitted by mosquito's to the dog and intestinal worms are ingested usually from decaying food or feces,, just don't eat your dogs poop and you will be ok!!

Not unless your dog has poo on his fur and you get it on your hands and get your hands in your mouth. It can happen, but not likely. Maybe you could worm the dog and then it would not be a concern!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You can't get heartworms, but I believe you can get hookworms or roundworms from your dog.
