YES, because of a faith that the woman has and the respect for her family that would keep her there. I believe some women would stay any way and some would run with there children. as you know A woman has no right in Islam which is slowly changing with time. you cant change history in a moment but with many moments it can begain to change. I am not sure insercurities keep the women of Islam supressed but the only way they have ever known. religion of any kind has a strong affect on people its there believes that will keep them supressed this is my opinion

It's not about insecurity. It's about how they were raised...If you don't know better then you go along with the program...Alot of these woman don't have t.v or only Islam shows. Or the ones that know are still to scared to say anything.

There are plenty of smart strong Islamic women as Maria Conchita pointed out. People usually do not join a religoin because they are insecure (except for "born again" Christians). They join it because that is the culture they are raised in and it tends to color their whole world. Even when they have become educated, self-sufficient and worldly, many women do not choose to abandon their belief systems.

another uninformed expounding where they should listen. Do you mean American Islam women? Iraqi? Iranian? or Indonesian? Worlds of difference. The Koran, like the Bible can be used to prove either side of any argument. The vast majority of American Islamic women enjoy a peaceful, secure life following that part of the Koran written for humans. So, my friend, Lost Wages, dig before you plant.

A lot - because 1) insecurity cannot diagnose itself, and 2) they could not afford the pill.
