Just curious, I've only heard of black people practicing Voodoo, especially in New Orleans.

Just an FYI.. IM not being racist. I have no problem with people of other races. I just didnt know if white people practice it because it originates in Africa and Haiti. I know its a religion, I know that its big in the south, and I know that its predominantly black people who practice. I can expect that a couple of white people would do voodoo, but I didnt know if it was very popular. So quit trying to make my question out to be me being racist, because i'm not.

I practice Vodou and I am biracial. I practice in a house that has many white people....and the Mambo and Houngan are white. Not mention there are also hispanic and black people. Vodou calls to your spirit not to your skin color. There is no race in Vodou. Any religion can be practiced by any person at anytime. I know there is a well respected Mambo called Sally Anne Glassman that practices in New Orleans. She is Jewish. The house I practice in is in Pennsylvania.

Yep white ppl do, i would love to know a bit more about it myself. Voodoo has a lot of roots in New Orleans so it is bound to be picked up by many of its inhabitants from natural curiosity or family traditions.
