unexplained bruising? About 2 months ago, I noticed bruises all over my legs. I just assumed it was from swimming with the kids, you know how they kick you without meaning to. Well, for 2 weeks I was on vacation and I kept getting bruises. Most of them don't hurt, and most of them are in places that I'm not likely to hit by walking into a coffee table. Well, 2 weeks ago, I started getting bruises on my arms. I mean it when I say it looks like somebody has been beating me! My doctor took a blood sample and everything came back normal. She said she could test for indivual problems but each test would require a separate blood draw. Has anyone else experienced this and if so, do you know the cause for it? I'm tired of wearing long pants all the time and it's too hot to wear long sleeves!

If you are taking considerable amounts of aspiring, coumadin, Ibuprofen, or any other blood thinners, you can bleed under the skin very quickly and easily. Also, there is a disease called ITP where your platelet counts are dangerously low and you bruise extremely quick. :)

if your doctor took a standard blood lab, she may think everything is okay, however, a good result does not always mean your okay.

have you been tested for liver, kidney diseases?

hcv (hepatitis c) is known to cause bruising. blood labs in some are normal. with others the ALT and AST levels will be abnormal (high)

you could have a tumor somewhere that is not cancerous, but is taking blood supply.

many things. do you drink? smoke?

maybe your not storing iron.

i certainly would have her test for something...obviously something is there!

good luck and if it helps, print out my response and take it to her!

Almost... I'm having problems deleting mails, period... If I try to delete a mail that I've read, it appears as though the mail is being deleted, and the little message "Done" appears at the bottom left corner, but the mail remains in my 'in-box'.. Sometimes, if I mark three or four (check mark) I can delete them en-masse, but bye and large, there is a problem with Yahoo Mail.. Aside from all else, it is agonisingly slow to navigate to my in-box, and even more so when I open a mail..

Some people bruise easily. It may be hereditary since mom & I both do, I never know where most of my bruises come from. If you have consulted your doctor, then don't worry about it.

Your metabolism is slowing down. And your muscles are getting weaker. You can reverse this by doing aerobic exercises and weightlifting. This will make the blood flow better, the muscles tighten up, and your brusing will a lot less, heal faster.

Write if you need help with setting up an exercise program.
