Is it possible to install window xp on a seperate hard drive wile running on windows?

I would recommend one thing that may be faster.

Partition your separate hard drive into two portions. One for logic drive and one for active partition drive. Copy your window Xp CD onto the logic drive and then runs off it. It may be faster than running it off the CD.

I am not sure about XP. But on the Win 2000, you can actually start the installation process when you click on the setup.exe through the window explorer.

Yes, you can dual boot which means you can have more than one version on the same computer. You can't, however, install Windows on another hard drive while actually running Windows at the same time. You have to boot using the XP CD then choose to install on the other hard drive.

No you cannot install another OS while running in realtime on another OS. You will have to shut down, format the other one, install the OS, then a good boot manager would make booting easier also. Good luck

Yes It is possible. It is called a dual boot installation.
