I cleaned one by rinsing it and the battery started to die I guess water got inside .......... so do I have to twist off the brush head , then put it on ?

Soak it in listerine.

yes twist off the head and clean it that way the heads of toothbrushes or reg, brushes must be replaced every six months or shorter if you have had a cold or flu bacteria builds up on them and you can make yourself sick again

the brush head can be rinsed in cup with mouth wash then let it dry. before putting it back together.
