Our finding fathers incorporated GOD into their writings. I think we should respect that. GOD is just taken out of context and people think that it only relates to Christians. I am tired of people complaining about it especially Atheist. You have more privaleges here than any other country. PPL stop complaining about this great country. If you don't like it. Move!

I'm not offended at all. In fact, I agree wholeheartedly with you. I can't believe how many things in America are changing because of the few instead of the masses. A very small (in comparison to total population) wanted prayer and the word God removed and it happened. That same groups is the reason Wal-Mart greeters can no longer say "Merry Christmas" or decorate their stores for Easter. I'm not a Bible thumper or holier than thou, but I think we're heading in the wrong direction taking something like the Pledge of Allegiance out of school because it has the word God in it. On a good note, this year we changed out daughter to private school.....they say the Pledge and a morning prayer.

God Bless!!

There really isn't anything that you can do about anyone being offended, and really when my grandfather and I would say the pledge of allegiance there were 2 different versions being said. He grew up with the phrase one nation "under God" wasn't part of the pledge. I don't see anything wrong with either of the versions of the pledge I just wish people would get over it and say either version, there shouldn't be just one set version due to our diverse religions in this country. But it should not be about the god you worship it should be about honoring our nation.

Thank you, I am not offended at all and appreciate the sentiment.

I am not in the least religious and I don't think of anything religious when that is said. I think it is synonymous with "good wishes to America."

This country was founded on judeo-christian principles and they have helped us go a long long way. I am thankful for that. If anyone's god can or will bless us then that's all good. If someone is offended by it, they should STFU and stop wasting everyone's time with their whining.

Oh the horror of our children learning to respect others and value having any morals, what could be worse?

Separation of church and state never meant removal of anything remotely related to religion from our government, it meant that our government will not establish a natonal religion. It means that every American is free to worship whomever or whatever he or she pleases and that's it. If the government has crosses or six pointed stars or kwanza thingies or other religious symbols on public property, what's the big deal? It's not like those muslim countries where someone with a rifle is telling you it's Allah or Else!

No, I'm not offended you invoked God, nor should anyone else be offended by a simple display of relifious devotion. However, I just so happen to be Buddhist, and I reserve the right to practice my religion and have my descendants follow me, if they so choose.

That right is enshrined in the Constitution I swore to defend, and I paid my dues in the desert fighting alongside my brothers. If I don't practice Christianity, that doesn't make me any less worthy to be called an American. If I don't invoke the name of God, that doesn't make me any less patriotic, nor does it make me some sort of second-class citizen.

There's a reason Church and State are separated, so those full of an excess of religious zeal don't go around imprisoning others and burning them on the stake for not being Christian, much less being of a different denomination. That sort of persecution belongs in the past. Worship who and what you want; many fought for that right of yours, and I was one of them. Leave me and my children alone.

No, I'm not offended. As long as you are not offended by other things as well. It works both ways. I will honor our nation, but not god. there are many gods people pray to and I won't be closed minded and turn someone away because they believe in different things. I believe in tolerance. You should be able to do what you want to do, as written in the constitution. I have no idea what religion you are(could be any religion, most believe in a god).

This nation was founded on Christian beliefs and the ideals that people should have certain freedoms.

Freedom of speech

Freedom of religion

Freedom against tierany

We take these freedoms to lightly.

Thank you and yes, God Bless America

Yes! I'm a teacher and say the pledge of Allegiance each morning with my class. I inform them that they do have the choice to join me or not. Usually I have 1 or 2 you will not recite it but will still stand with the class, the other 30 or so join me each morning. If I get sidetracked, and forget to do the pledge after morning bell work, the kids always remind me. WE look forward to it!!!!!!!!!!!!
