I can't seem to gain weight or keep it on for some dam reason. My appetite is not normal - I don't feel like eating much sometimes even if I see my favorite food, I feel like I'm too full to eat it, or sometimes my mouth doesn't feel like chewing or swallowing, my weight is always fluctuating. And other days, I feel like eating a cow, so I eat all day until I'm almost to the point of exploding, but don't. I could gain 8 pounds in a week or two, then lose it a few days later. What the hell is up with that? I'm not annorexic or belimic. Any advice, besides "eat, b*tch"? I think its a mental problem or something.

I'm not belimic or annorexic!! Dammitt. I eat a lot on somedays (without puking). Somedays I eat a fricken orange, or cookies and thats it, without feeling the hungry feeling in your stomach. It just feels like my stomach doesn't want nothing in it, ya know. I guess I better see a doc and shrink, although I hate them both. Thank you all for your time.

This sounds more organic than psychological. I'd see your doctor and tell him about your symptoms. There are a variety of conditions which may cause this, and your doctor will be able to direct you in the right direction.

Please don't think you have a mental illness because you have what can probably be best described as a minor eating disorder. The sooner this is diagnosed the better. You are probably suffering from latent stress, or there's been a change in your lifestyle recently. I respectfully suggest you speak to your doctor about this, and he can recommend you to the suitable place for treatment. You see, the failure to eat is not the problem, nor is wanting to eat a farm, barn and all. Something is behind your eating disorder, and THAT is what has to be searched out. You are not a *****, you are a person who has a problem which should be addressed as soon as possible.

You sound like you are depressed or have an overactive thyroid gland i recommend you visit your gp and tell them your symptoms exactly they will run the correct blood tests and prescribe the correct meds. You are suffering from an eating disorder of some sort as you binge then starve yourself i cannot say if you are anorexic as i do not know your height and weight and am trustng you are not bullemic as you wouldn't have asked what was wrong. You do need professional medical help tho as your concentration levels and vitamin and mineral levels will be all up the bucket.Causing mood swings also. Plz get help!

mmmm, you sound like a regular woman. Our metabolism fluctuates, it is not level thru out the month. If you are putting on and shedding too many pounds, you will wreck your body, thou. So control your appetite when it's beastly, and eat healthy smoothies with protein when you have no hunger, but you know it is time to feed your body something.
Are you an adolescent? That could be the reason.

I'm the same way. My weight does not fluctuate that much but sometimes I feel like eating everything in sight, and sometimes nothing sounds good, so I just don't eat. I would think about talking to your doctor. It could be depression or stess.

I dont think anything is wrong with you. Sometimes I feel like eating sometimes not. Nothing wrong with that. When you get to the point when your health is being affected, like you are starving yourself and you have no energy, or you are puking in jars and hiding under your bed... I wouldnt worry about it. Just eat good and when you feel like it.

You need to see a doctor, your metabolic rate is fluctuating seriously. Thyroid problems and diabetes can cause blood chemistry to go out of balance. You need to find out the source of the problems with your blood chemistry.

Some people just have such a high metabolism that they can't keep the weight on. If you didn't have a high metabolism you would be gaining weight and keeping it on.

You have a fat metabolism. I have a couple of friends who are really skinny. One of them found the solution, drink beer, but I wouldn't advise you that.
