you need proof of rabies shots..a tag is given to you when the rabies vaccine is given..it goes on the collar with the dog license tag. Put a tag with the dog's name and your phone number on it in case the dog gets out and gets lost. Good luck

A dog must be vaccinated against rabies before being licensed. Also no matter if you NEED the vaccines for the license youshould keep your dog up to date to prevent life threating and unpleasent diseases. You should always contact your vet for the best advice on pet care.

Most places only require rabies vaccine. Check with your local city office and find out. The place where I live will give you a discount on licensing fees if you spay/neuter them as well as microchipping. It makes the dog catchers job easier if they are microchipped. You will want to protect your dog by vaccinating it for distemper/parvo, bordatella or kennel cough, and other vaccines based on what lifestyle you and your dog have. Hunting, Hiking, etc...

You need proof of rabies shots to get a license or microchip. Your dog also needs proof that they do not have distemper and have had their shots of that. If you need to know more then just email me at banana_girl_3d@yahoo.com

You should have your pup up to date on shots whether or not you need a license.
If you can't afford the shots then you can't afford the dog.
