Never a good idea, especially if it's the boss!

It depends on so many factors.
Are they your boss? If so then NO
If they are a equal colleague then go for it but make sure that you both want the same thing out of the relationship and that you will be ok if it does not work out to be 'the one'.
Keep it really casual at first get to know him out side of the office and see if the attraction is still there.
If he is a lower colleague meaning you could some day be his boss then I would not chance it unless his drive to succeed is as intense as yours.
MY TWO CENTS
Hope it helps

As the saying goes "nevereat where you ****" sorry for the analogy but, I have gotten both of my ex's a job with me and abscence makes the heart grow fonder. When you see each other all day at work and spend time with that person all day after, you cause problems in the relationship because there is nothing to talk about.

I've done it a few times over the years, and for the most part, it's worked out. However there are times when it doesn't, and that can be big time trouble.
So it's best not to get involved with a co worker.
It's hard when you see someone, you really are into, and to see them every day, and not to want to get involved.
But it's a slippery road, to say the least.

I feel it is never good to date someone that you work with. First of all, you see too much of each other, Co workers find out you are seeing one another and they start drama(trust me, they will find out!)Besides, companies frown on that sort of thing......If you think you just have to go for it and you can handle it....Go for it!

Whether it's your boss or your co-worker, I would not advise it. If things go sour personally, it'll definitely transcend to the office. I know it's a male statement but it applies to women, too: "Don't dip your pen in the company ink."

As for me, it will only be ok to date someone I'm working with if I'm desperate.

I feel like it is a bad decision, for many reasons. It is inappropiate and many businesses have a policy against this. Good luck.
