I am a Christian, and I acknowledge it. There, you're done waiting.

Some of the posters here already beat me to the punch in saying that we homosapiens never evolved from monkeys...we evolved alongside monkeys and other apes from some primate-type creature that has yet to be discovered. Creationists would say that we never evolved from anything because the evidence is not there/not enough and that we came here as we are by God's hand...but the difference and logic of the two theories can be discussed some other time.

I am a Christian...and for the moment I am more inclined to think evolution at least from a micro-evolutionary (restricted to animal taxadermic family) level. The moment they find more compelling evidence for some other way for species formation...well who knows. As for the literalists...I am not sure either...its up to them.

BTW...methinks you are giving too much importance to GWB's existence by calling him a missing link....

We don't know we evolved from "monkeys", we evolved from some weird type of primate.--actually--WE ARE still some type of weird primate that has just overevolved into a dominant, calculating and highly intellectual--(well, some of us anyway) Species!
The thing Christians have a hard time with this is because :
1) they don't want to believe we are animals and
2) just another species of animal
3) they believe we are "made in the image of God himself"

--this is all illogical and nonsense but it is comforting and strokes their huge egos to think God himself looks like a "human" animal!
If he's god, how can he "look" like anything! So they have a problem right there with the blind faith in what the words in the book they worship read.

If you had a few cells working you would realize that the only thing that evolved from monkey's is more monkeys. Humans didn't evolve from monkeys, gorillas or any ape. There is not one case of any species evolving from another species, including a worm from a germ, a dog from something else, a bird from a fish, nothing. Try and find a case, a fossil, anything anywhere and than get back to us.

If you had half the intelligence of a monkey, then you'd know that Pope John Paul II has already acknowledge this. And Catholics make up 2/3 of the world's Christians.

For the record, humans, including Christians, did not evolve from monkeys. The human lineage diverged from the "Pan" ancestor about 5.5 million years ago. The chimps and the bonobos diverged from the Pan genus about 2.5 million years ago. So, although we're related to monkeys, they are not our ancestors.

We did not evolve from monkeys or apes. We and apes evolved along the same evolutionary track whe apes branched one way and humans went the other.

Simply because it is NOT a fact. Prove me without a shadow of a doubt the human race is evolved from monkeys. Know about the missing links between the species?!? You should. If you wish this animal to be your ancestor then go to the Amazonian Jungle and do grimes:-).

We didn't... we evolved from a primitive man version similar to monkeys but not... at around the same time monkeys did

And then we got over the primitive man hump with the introduction of fallen angels...

Read up on your human history, not just earth history, man

Bush.. well, he's not a monkey... more Nazi like really...

If you want to say you evolved from a monkey,go right ahead we don't have to admit that.Their no truth to that.My Bible said God create man and woman and not monkey. When man was lonely he put man in deep sleep and got one of his rib and made woman again no monkey. So if you want to except that, go right ahead you are entitle to believe what you want. You can't make us believe in something we don't believe in.Go ahead with your family tree of monkey, because I don't have none in my family tree.

Well, in fact no one evolved from monkeys. We and monkeys and apes are all primates. Same family.
We all share a common ancestor.
See the difference?
