I've installed openssh-server on Debian/Ubuntu Linux and want to know how I can limit the outgoing bandwidth from the server. Can I also limit the number of simultaneous connections?

Limiting connections is esasy - in /etc/ssh/sshd_config, find the line that looks like:

#ClientAliveCountMax 3

Remove the comment # char, change the 3 as needed, restart sshd server, and you're done.

Limiting the bandwidth is trickier, you'll need to play games with iptables for that.
