She IS an indoor cat, she just got out today! Shes not stupid, and my other cat was very old and had liver failure; and I do have a dog his name is Zeus and hes perfectly healthy, and I had a dog before but he died 6 years ago from kidney failure also at an old age. I will not shoot her and take her out of her missery!!!

Sorry to hear about this. My thoughts are with you. Never easy to have an injured or sick pet.

Your vet should be able to answer your questions best. I know he/she might not be telling you what you want to hear.

We had a stray cat once get hit in front of our house and we took her to the vet, her back legs were never right but she lived a long happy healthy life. Cost us an arm and a leg to fix her up but it was worth it. Good Luck.

I don't know if they do neurosurgery on cats. She may do alright if the damage is not too significant.

You can help your cat immensely by getting some flower, herb essences for her. You can get Rescue Remedy from a health foods store or go to: www.spirtessences.com and get Healthy Helper from Dr. Jean Hovfe.

The essences can be miraculous in their healing qualities. They are inexpensive and can do no harm nor interfere with any medications or treatments she will get from the regular vet. You just shake the bottles well and apply three or four drops to the cat's fur between her ears. You will probably treat this way for a week to 10 days, applying four or five times a day. It may sound like vodoo and they really work.

The RR is about $20 a bottle. If you get that right now you can take it to the clinic and apply some to her while she's there if you get to visit. The Heathly Helper is mailed and costs $16.95.

I hope she will be alright. It does not sound like a terribly bad fall, such as would be if she jumped out of a high window onto the ground. The bushes must have minimized the trauma from falling from the fence.

A neighbor's young cat was hurt someway a couple of years ago. He was paralyzed. The vet said they just had to wait and see if he would recover. I gave the neighbor my Rescue Remedy and they treated him through the weekend. He recovered perfectly.

The essences cannot of course heal serious physical damage and they can give your cat ease so that she can muster all her resources to speed her recovery.

Well, she is where she needs to be. Only the Vet can answer your questions. I'm sorry this has happened. Maybe you should think about keeping her inside when/if she gets home. Although, if this happened just from jumping, it could happen inside too I guess. You wouldn't think such a short distance would cause such a bad injury. She must have just landed wrong, or she might have something wrong with her that would make her bones easily break. I think I would ask about that. Good luck honey!

young animals have an amazing ability to heal. If the back is not broken and the back legs are not paralyzed, i say your kitty will recover. It will have to be immobilized for a while to allow the fracture to heal - don't know how the vet will do it... but see that you follow his instrucions precisely.

It depends on how bad of a fracture and how much you can afford. I suggest you keep her and future cats indoors.

ask all of these questions to your vet and if money is not a problem they can fix quite a few ailments.

go be with your kitty and give her lots of love, dont just abandon her to the hospital never to visit, she will know you are not there and be very lonely.

good luck and give your kitty a gentle hug from me.
