I have a 2000 LT BLazer, and people are telling me that the stereo needs and output, and that most stock stereos, including mines, dont have them. Is their another way to be able to connect my system using my Stock Stereo. I dont wanna buy another stereo because, thats the way theifs knows if u have subwoofers in the back of ur trunk. if u have a stock stereo, must people would think that ur whole audio is stock.

A "line level converter" shouldn't cost more than $18, if you pay more than this, you're getting suckered as the parts to make one are inexpensive.

I've been reading some of slacker34's other answers and I have to say I'm not impressed.

as long as your stock head unit has rca cable in the back and a remote wire, your good. most head units front panels come off if you wanna be that safe, and head units dont mean you have subs because my friend has a mostly race car and doesnt need subs, but he got a head unit to just add some more power to his speakers as well as just look a little better. you could also run your subs instead of the rear speakers, but still, thats only about 20 watts or so for each woofer, which is almost always very low. most cheap subs have an rms of around 100-150 so its not even near that. its alot easier to just get a head unit and take the front panle out and carry it with you.

what u really need is called a hi/low converter or adaptor. Get a high quality one. what it does is it takes the signal from ur rear speakers and produces a low level signal through RCA leads to ur amp. there are many different brands out there... dont get suckered for some generic brand. Get one like a DEI, Peripheral, Soundgate, PAC ... all these are high quality costing from $30-$100.

If your amp has high and low level inputs you can do it. You will need to hook it into the high input side of the amp.

You will to need hook the rear speaker leads from the stereo to it.

not a great idea. stock stereos don't have enough power to pump good amps and speakers
